The Spiritual Bat // Support TBC

The Spiritual Bat is an Italian death rock/goth duo led by guitarist and composer Dario Passamonti alongside vocalist and lyricist Rosetta Garrì. The project evolved from Spiritual Bats, which Passamonti co-founded in 1992 with Matteo Bracaglia, releasing a vinyl EP in 1993 and sharing stages with acts like Rozz Williams as early as 1994.

As Dario Passamonti (Guitar, Music, Arrangements) and Rosetta Garrì (Lyrics, Vocals, Arrangements, Percussions), the band is one of few European underground bands in their scene to have toured the USA coast-to-coast multiple times, with recent tours extending into Tijuana and Mexico City. They’ve performed at major festivals across Europe including WGT, Whitby Goth Weekend, Return To The Batcave, Gotham Sounds, and Castle Party, and have shared the stage with artists such as Gene Loves Jezebel, Skeletal Family, Soror Dolorosa, In The Nursery, Fields of The Nephilim, Garden Of Delight, and Clan of Xymox.

Their sound draws on tribal percussion rhythms reminiscent of Tool, paired with ambient, emotive vocals. Their album Mosaic was released in 2014 through Danse Macabre Records, and in 2022 the compilation Origins and Transmutations gathered remastered early Spiritual Bats material via SwissDarkNights Label. The band continues to draw on the artwork of the Alchemisti Painters for its visual identity, a link stretching back to its founding.
